World-class Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay are produced in cold and often dry climates. Amisfield, Chard Farm, and Gibbston Valley are close to Queenstown and worthy of a visit. 40 minutes away lies Bannockburn and Cromwell is around 50 minutes. These two sub-regions offer many cellar doors with lunches offering local produce, like Wild Earth Wines, Carrick Winery, and Mt. Difficulty.
